Prairie View A&M’s men’s 4x100m relay team — Keon Campbell, Samuel Omoera, William Polley and Carl Jordan — ran a 39.340-second time at the West Regionals in Austin, Texas to earn a spot at nationals. The Panthers’ time was ninth-best in its regional field.

On the women’s side, PVAMU’s Deonca Bookman ran a season-best 57.94-second time in the 400m hurdles, advancing to the national championships. Her time was third-best among all West competitors.

Alabama State’s 4x100m relay squad — Josh Davis, Justin Davis, Devin O’Neal and Norris Spike — ran a 39.16-second mark in the East Regionals at the University of Kentucky to earn a spot in Eugene. Their time was also ninth-best in its field. Jo. Davis and O’Neal also advanced to the 200m quarterfinals, with the former coming just shy of qualifying in the event, missing out by four-thousandths of a second.

Hornet long jumper Jamie Brown leapt a distance 7.58m to finish eighth overall and claim a spot in nationals.
