The Chattanooga, Tenn. native completed a questionnaire during which she discussed her goals and aspirations for her post-undergraduate studies and as one of the leaders of the SWAC SAAC.

Q: What is your major?
A: Sociology with a minor in Human Resources Management.

Q: What are your plans after you earn your college degree?
A: After graduation, I plan to attend grad school at Southern and continue on with the women of domestic violence internship.

Q: How does it feel to be away from home?
A: Being far away from home matured me in a lot of ways as a student-athlete and as a woman, leader, player, and person overall.

Q: What are your goals as an officer in the SWAC’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee?
A: As SWAC SAAC Secretary, I plan to further the social media platforms as well as contributions to the SWAC Newsletter. It is a goal of mine to make known the situations, concerns, or needs that go overlooked within all sports. I also hope to publish notes from monthly calls and relay information from the D1 SAAC Committee to SWAC SAAC via social media.

Q: What has been your favorite part about being a student-athlete at Southern and competing in the SWAC?
A:  I thoroughly enjoy the competition that comes with being a student-athlete in the SWAC as well as the challenges on and off the field. The atmosphere during each season, rivals or not there is a lot of support, fans from all over, and everyone has a great time. They say athletes are more likely to be great in the workforce in all aspects when it comes to dedication and teamwork because that’s what makes a team get the job done. As well as in the workplace, both concepts are key along with the education we received.
