For the Love of Money opens Nationwide on November 24th, 2021

The film, which was produced by Melvin Childs Presents, centers on a single mother (Hilson) who will do whatever it takes to protect her daughter (Jazzy Jade), which sees her returns to a world she’s spent has tried to avoid or as one will find out return which will have consequences for her actions.

Leslie Jones does a wonderful job directing this unit of actors especially taking them out of their usual comfort zone: Katt Williams, although had some comedic spaces, he was not playing his normal comedic self; Jason Mitchell who is one talented actor, was once again in the spot he needs to be in and that is acting; LisaRaye McCoy, took on different kind of character who wasn’t her usually sex object/vixen self. Here she played the more mature very beautiful woman, who has a back story. There were two breakout roles, Jazzy Jade, who plays Keri Hilson’s daughter, and she definitely played the part of a troubled teen who can stand her to protect herself and her family. Much respect to DC Young Fly, who is someone that fits this younger generation of young black talent, but for us, older folks who grew up on Chris Tucker, DC Young Fly, in our opinion, seems to be copying the same style of Tucker. This role for DC Young Fly and the way he allowed himself to be directed really set himself up for bigger roles stepping outside of his comfort zone.

As for Keri Hilson, this was a great film to reintroduce herself to the world and to the fact that what she is known for is singing, it was nice to see her doing that as well.
