Appearing on The Jimmy Kimmel Show this week, 11-time Olympic track medal winner Allyson Felix had some positive words for sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson. But Richardson didn’t appear to be having any of it.
Richardson took to Instagram this morning and appeared to admonish Felix for her words of encouragement. She wrote that “Encouraging words on tv are just as real as well nothing at all” and seemed to imply that Felix was being insincere with her support.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the former NCAA champion and Olympic hopeful. Between her suspension from sprinting, Olympic exclusion and recent ninth-place finish in her last race, Richardson is having a summer to forget.
But despite being defiant in the face of her critics, going after Allyson Felix may be the last straw for some. Nobody really seems to understand why Richardson is going after Felix, but just about everyone is criticizing her for it:
