Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Vulcan Invitational

BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Bloomsburg’s women’s golf team shot a combined 670 to place fifth in the Vulcan Invitational hosted by California (Pa.).

Olivia Martinez (Bellevue, Ohio/Bellevue) shot the lowest score in Huskies’ Women’s Golf history in round one with a career-low 76. In round two she posted a 79, finishing tied for first with the Vulcans’ Keegan Selinsky. Martinez finished in second after the playoffs. Overall, Martinez finished with a score of 155 (+13).

Freshman Noemi Krizso (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall Central) finished 20th in her collegiate debut, posting an 86 in the opening round. Krizso dropped 6 strokes and shot an 80 on the second day to finish with a score of 166 (+24)

Ryleigh Faust (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) posted an 87 on day one before improving to shoot an 82 in the second round. She finished the weekend with a 169 (+27).

Sophomore Grace Green (Shadyside, Ohio/Shadyside High School) improved her career-low by shooting a 90 on each day of the Vulcan Invitational. Green finished with a total of 180 strokes (+38).

Julia Zonca (Newton, N.J./Newton High School) matched her career-low with a 93 in the opening round. She posted a 97 on day two, finishing with a 190 (+48).

The Huskies’ next match is the Rams Invitational hosted by Shepherd on September 24.
