Lizzen gives her “Apologies”

(September 30, 2026) Usually, when a person makes the decision to make amends for hurting someone, they want to be more than just forgiven. A small – or not so small – part of them wants reconciliation and absolution. However, some people apologize because they want to repair the harm that they caused, and it doesn’t matter whether their mea-culpas result in a renewal of the relationship,

“Apologies,” the latest song by Akron, Ohio native Lizzen, tells the story of a woman who is deeply sorry for the harm, and she comes clean with the full knowledge that the damage done by her words means she might not be able to reset the relationship.

“This is me owning it, not begging. I completely understand if her feelings aren’t the same — I just needed to say it,” she says.

LIzzen’s phrasing is conversational, vulnerable and confessional. The lyrics reveal someone stripped of pride and pretense because she’s examined her actions in a mental mirror and decided she didn’t like what she say.

It was time to come clean because confession and acknowledging wrongdoing is good for the soul, and the spiritual cleansing isn’t contingent on whether the harmed party responds with open or folded arms. Check out Lizzen’s “Apologies” here
